At Better Balance & Hearing our priority is to help you experience your life to its fullest. Essentially, helping people to experience the remarkable sounds of life and the phenomenon of normal balance is a goal that we strive to achieve every day.
Our practice, with its friendly staff and warm, comfortable atmosphere, will provide you with a complete and thorough service. The partners of Better Balance & Hearing both have a special interest in Balance and Dizziness Assessments and Rehabilitation, namely Videonystagmography (VNG) and Computerized Dynamic Posturography (CDP), of which we have one of only two full Neurocom systems in Africa.
Children learn to communicate by imitating the sounds they hear. Undetected and untreated hearing loss results in delayed speech/language development, social problems and academic difficulties. Early diagnosis, early fitting of hearing aids, and an early start on special education programs can help maximize a child’s hearing.
A standard diagnostic audiology test battery generally involves three parts, namely pure tone audiometry, speech audiometry, and impedance audiometry. However, for children and adults who are unable to participate in a standard test battery, physiologic tests may be used to determine which function of the auditory system is at fault.
Dizziness is one of the most common patient complaints seen in ambulatory care and frequently represents many separate overlapping sensations that can be caused by a multitude of different pathophysiologic processes. Evaluation and treatment of patients with dizziness will differ significantly once the category of dizziness has been determined.
